New poll: battle of the colas

The results are in! Last week's poll asked you to choose "the most innovative company" from a list of eight different businesses.

I thought innovation was rather subjective, but as it turns out, 58% of you singled out Apple as most innovative, followed by Google at 18%.

The magazine article that inspired last week's poll ranked the eight choices like this:

#1... Google
#2... Apple
#3... Facebook
#6...Nike
#9... Amazon
#10...Nintendo
#32...Wal-Mart
#35... Burton

The article also listed off what made each company notable. Google took first place because of all its ambitious projects: mapping out the world, bringing internet search to cellphone screens – it has truly evolved into something much bigger than just a search engine.

Moving on! This week's poll was inspired by a very recent experience at a restaurant.

When the waitress came to take drink orders, I asked for a Coke. Her reply (and how many times have you heard this): "Is Pepsi okay?" Truth is, for some people, Pepsi is not okay. Just like how Diet Coke is not okay when you've asked for Diet Pepsi. When you think about it, it's strange how people can be so particular about their preference in dark soda. It's all the same... or is it?

Answer the poll and have your say in the battle of the Colas. Post comments defending your fave below. And then send your poll ideas to me at: youngfreealberta@gmail.com.

Have a great Monday!
