Here is Kelsey's current situation:
I was born and raised in Calgary and I am currently in my third year of Human Ecology at the University of Alberta. Human Ecology is the study of people and their near environments which allows me to take marketing and business classes, as well as fashion classes! I could not have asked for a better degree for myself because I am so passionate about this program.
I have my own blog about fashion, music and photography. Blogging is a great way for me to connect with others as well as express my creativity.

18-25 years old? We are 18-25 years young!
We are a generation that has grown up with the privilege of huge advances in technology. This means that we have the power to more easily impact our economy and standard of living with our new and innovative ideas. Alberta is a very powerful province in Canada and therefore things that Albertan’s do affect the entire country! Our generation needs to be informed and knowledgeable regarding how OUR financial decisions affect the OUR WHOLE Country’s economy.
So if you had $120 extra, what would you spend it on?
You can buy 80 large coffees from Timmy H’s. (And with roll up the rim you might get some donuts too!)
You could buy 4 or 5 games for your Wii!
Or that could pay for 2 of your cell phone bills!
Now, do you want to know HOW you can get an extra $120? Oh, I do! I do!
Does your bank charge you monthly service fees of around $10? I used to think, oh well! That’s just what banks do...but I was wrong. I thought, that is no big deal, it’s only $10. But if you really think about it, over the course of one year I was paying $120 dollars in bank fees! That’s not fair! I’m a student so that money doesn’t just come from anywhere! We work hard for the little money that we have as students so we really have to think before we spend it! But did you know that when you become a Servus Credit Union Young & Free bank member you have NO monthly service fees? Is that not awesome?!
You know what I am doing with my extra $120 that I didn’t have before? I am going to go to the Lady Gaga concert in August! Oh don’t lie, I know all of you (even the boys) have danced around your room singing po-po-po-poker face.
Freedom means using our strengths as Generation Y to create better futures for ourselves and generations to come, but having fun and taking risks while doing it. If we don’t make smart decisions now, we will not have as many freedoms to enjoy when we are older. I will help you by giving you funny facts, tips, tricks and so that we can grow together into a savvy and more educated generation. We need to learn NOW how best to manage our money and truly understand how the choices we make today will affect us as we grow older.
